Spring Holy Days & Pentecost---

Beginning steps of God’s master plan.

Is this ever-present in our minds? For those in the COG, it should be!   (Originally posted on 4/12/19 and as commentary)

Hello my friends! The time sure flies by anymore, it seems! The cycle of Holy Days of God reveal His master plan for the creation of mankind, which come around every year to remind us. I hope you can appreciate what God is doing for all of mankind, through His complete plan. (This article is a limited review of the spring Holy Days and primarily for those new in or associated with the COG, who may know these or at least some of the details. However, everyone is welcome who wants to know or at least review and learn the truth from their own Bible!)

The spring Holy Days of God are just about here again. (Using the Hebrew calendar along with the Roman or Gregorian for 2019— See Parallels-Calendar for more) The cycle of God’s festival year has already begun, (using the Hebrew calendar) with the first day of the year being April 5th at sunset—Exo.12:2 & including Pentecost—Acts 2 & Lev.23:4-21) This coincides with the beginning of the year, as God stated to Moses and Aaron. How much do we believe and remember/understand about the plan and purpose of God, contained in these appointed observances? God does not want us to forget His planned out purpose for man, but the majority of the world who claim Christianity have been deceived in to thinking these days were only for the Jews and have been done away in Christ. The whole world of today has been deceived into believing falsehoods that are designed to steer people away from the truth instead of toward it. There is ample proof of that found right here on this web-site, in the various sections.

(The “Christianity” of today is false, a proven fact but that is another subject. See True Christianity for more.)

Many other independent and even organizational COG sites reveal this same truth, but how many are really listening? Are YOU?

The God realm (John1:1-3) together planned and created life on earth for man; then man himself. The purpose of mankind was for producing children after the “God kind”; according to Scripture! God is reproducing Himself in humanity! Incredible but true and God’s servants have been explaining this from the Bible for decades. That plan has a start and an end as we know it; (Isa.46:10) all planned and visualized before it was ever put into motion—but was this even long before the first man was ever created? If we believe the Scripture and can use common sense; YES, IT WAS, to be seen as we continue!

So let us begin by answer the simple Question:

“Where does it say God created man after the “GOD KIND”? (Please get your Bibles my friends and look up these passages, thus proving Biblical truth.)

Answer: Gen 1:26  Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; (Using the NKJV unless otherwise noted) V.27 “So God (Elohim-plural) created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” They were to be “fruitful” by reproducing, when the whole context is read.

When Christ came, He was not “spirit within a shroud of flesh” as many believe, (man does not have an immortal soul) even though He was previously the GOD of the Old Testament, but born totally of and in the flesh. Some few were given the Holy Spirit from birth, as Christ was. Christ Himself said in John 3:6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh,” -Mary, His mother was flesh and brought Him forth; so Christ was a flesh and blood human being, the express image of God, because He was from GOD and conceived in Mary! Paul tells us in Col 1:15 “He (Christ) is the image of the invisible God, (Heb.1:3 says “express image”) the firstborn over all creation. (At His resurrection, of course—V.18) v.16 For by Him all things were created (past-tense) that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.”  (Read these passages for further proof; Jonh1:11-14 & Heb.2:14-18) Man was created after the God kind.

So it is no stretch to see and learn that the Plan of God was already in existence when man was created. 2 Tim 1:9-10 cutting into the context says; “(GOD) has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ,”--- when Christ came in the flesh, it was to put away sin from those who would repent in this age; (Acts2:38-39) embrace God’s ways through Christ’s example and “Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. 14 That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.” (2 Tim 1:13-14) That statement brings in the Holy Spirit, which was previously given for the Church of God on Pentecost, 31 AD.

That brings me back to how important these Spring Holy Days are to true Christians, who have already gone through the previously mentioned process (repentance and baptism to receive the Holy Spirit) and are still holding fast to the faith that was once delivered. (Jude 3) Salvation all begins with the first annual festival and the acceptance of the REAL JESUS as our Passover. This does not apply to the rest of the world at this time. God will deal with them later in His plan, if they have not already rejected their chance. Man in general has been cut off from God at the sin of Adam and only those who are considered “First Fruits” are being worked with for perfection in this age. (Matt.5:48) Those are the predestined; (determined/foreordained in advance—Eph.1:5,11) the chosen in this age to remain faithful to the end, (Matt.24:13) not just those who are called and never really genuinely respond. Many are called but few are chosen. (Matt:22:14)

So the Passover is the yearly beginning, first commanded festival, a solemn annual observance but not a Holy day. (beginning of the 14th day of the first month on the Hebrew calendar—April 18th just after sunset for 2019—Lev.23:4-5) It is also the last day to remove any leavening products from our homes. The seven days of unleavened bread, (2nd festival) with two commanded Holy Days, begins with the night to be observed, (sunset April19th-V.6-8 & Exo.12:15-20) also a commanded observance during Holy time. (Exo.13:4-10) It is also the day after the weekly Sabbath, during these seven days (originally called Wave sheaf day that begins the countdown for the day of Pentecost (representing the first fruits)—also called the feast of weeks.

There is a lot of meaning to each one of these festivals for true Christians. Meaning that the world does not understand—nor CAN THEY without God opening their minds through the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that begets us as spiritual children of God and then we must grow spiritually, remaining faithful and preparing for the return of Christ. God gives His Spirit to those that are willing to obey Him. (Acts 5:32 & Heb.5:9)

In review and summary; keeping the spring annual Holy Days, along with Pentecost are essential for salvation, established and appointed in their proper order. The Passover must be kept the way Christ instituted in the NT as the New Covenant and at that precise time. (The Jews had gotten off track by the time of Christ and were doing things wrong because they interpreted the scriptures for themselves and rejected Christ as the Messiah.)

Then we must rejoice together (true Christians-typified by NTBO) as we strive to begin putting sin away and out of our lives, pictured by the 7 days of eating UNLB. God grants the Holy Spirit (typified by Pentecost) to those called, obedient (John6:44&45) and willingly learning from Him. They are now the called & chosen, begotten as potential first fruits and waiting for the return of Christ; whether alive at His return or having gone to their rest in the grave. (1Thess.4:13-18) May we rejoice in the plan of God and what He is doing for all of mankind; all planned out before hand and typified through the steps in His Holy Day plan!
